Agreement
These Terms govern your use of CookieType ("the App"), provided by CookieType ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App through Shopify, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
The service
CookieType shows a cookie consent banner on your Shopify storefront, records visitors' choices, passes those choices to Shopify and to the tools you connect, and scans your storefront for cookies. Features and limits depend on your plan and are described on our pricing page and in the help center. We may improve, change or retire features, with reasonable notice where practical.
Your responsibilities
- Choose the regions, consent options and wording that fit your business, and keep your privacy and cookie policies accurate.
- Connect the tools you use under Consent integration, and tag any other script or embed that should wait for consent. The App does not hold back scripts it has not been told about.
- Use the App in line with Shopify's terms and the law that applies to your store.
- Keep your Shopify account and the App's permissions secure.
Not legal advice
CookieType applies our reading of the privacy laws in each region and helps you collect and record consent. It is a tool, not legal advice, and using it does not guarantee that your store complies with any law. You remain responsible for your store's compliance; if you are unsure what your business needs, ask a privacy professional.
Billing
Paid plans are billed through Shopify's app billing, on your Shopify invoice. Prices, billing periods, free trials and refunds follow the plan shown when you subscribe and Shopify's policies. You can change or cancel your plan under Plans in the App.
Your data
You keep ownership of your store's data, including your visitors' consent records, which we process on your behalf as described in our privacy policy.
Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or any particular business or legal outcome.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, CookieType is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the App.
Ending the agreement
You can uninstall the App at any time from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the App in a way that harms the service or others.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you about material changes by email or in the App.
